Condensation is something that we see happening every day. It could be water collecting on the bathroom mirror when you step out of the shower or water-drops forming on the cold water pipes on a hot humid day. While this is a natural and common process, it could cause problems.
Even though the water generated by condensation isn’t that much, it could encourage the growth of mold and other related problems. Sometimes condensation will happen in a spot where you might not notice it until the damage has been done.
So how do you limit the amount of condensation in your home? Your best friend in this fight is insulation. Insulating cold water pipes will keep them from generating condensation. You should also make sure that humid air from the outside doesn’t make it into your home.
If necessary, you could use a dehumidifier to keep moisture levels down in the inside air as well.
